New GP Surgery - Building Works Starting
We are pleased to announce that work is about to start in preparation for the building of the new GP surgery which will replace our current building. The new surgery will be situated on the site next door to our current building.
The first phase is to relocate Barkers Pharmacy so that the new site can be prepared. The temporary housing for Barkers Pharmacy will be placed on the site of the flower bed in front of the current health centre. Hoardings will go up around the bed from 22nd November 2021 to try and minimise noise and dust. The flower bed will be removed, the area tarmacked and then the portable building will be erected to house Barkers Pharmacy.
The waste material from the flower bed will be moved to skips behind the health centre, via the alleyway which runs between the health centre and the current pharmacy. This alleyway will be closed to pedestrian access while the works are completed.
Patients leaving the health centre and wanting to use the pharmacy while it is still in its current position will have to go around the flower bed.
We are very excited at the prospect of having a new building to provide our patients with a great environment and up to date facilities. We will be issuing updates as frequently as we are able. Watch this space!
